The Nebraska State Patrol says Troopers, with the help of Omaha Police, arrest two people after a pursuit in which the suspect vehicle was driven between Nebraska and Iowa numerous times.
The Patrol says the car was driven recklessly, nearly hitting with other vehicles, as the Omaha Police helicopter followed it early Wednesday
Investigators say around 12:45 a.m., a trooper spotted the car speeding on Highway 75 just north of downtown Omaha.
The trooper tried to stop it, but the driver accelerated it northbound.
The trooper pursued for a short distance until OPD’s Able 1 helicopter began following it.
The NSP says the helicopter tracked it for approximately 50 minutes as the driver continued driving recklessly.
The car crossed the Missouri River numerous times before a trooper was able to successfully deploy stop sticks on I-480 near 14th Street in Omaha.
The driver then ran, but was quickly taken into custody.
A passenger remained with the vehicle.
The driver, 22-year- old Anthony Chase, of Bellevue, NE., was arrested for obstructing a peace officer, willful reckless driving, and flight to avoid arrest.
The passenger, 22-year- old Mason Trevillion of Omaha, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
