This was the "crowd" at last night's Papillion-La Vista home game against Norfolk. An audience so large, they could have all driven there in the same car. I saw the same thing at games the past few years at Millard South, Central, and my beloved Ralston. And the state tournament? Forget it. No metro school students are going to a game down the street -- why would they drive to Lincoln? (Prep fans excluded; they show up at State.)
Young people today: This is why we don't like you.
I think I make some great points about why these crowds are so pathetically small ... but I realize I also sounds like a cranky old man complaining about these darn kids walking across his lawn. I'd be happy about the kids on my lawn, though -- at least they'd be outside!
