Isn't Facebook Already a Dating Site?

Lots of People are Interested in Using Facebook's Planned Dating Service

Despite all the recent trouble Facebook has been dealing with over user privacy, new research found that lots of people are interested in using the dating service that it announced last month it will be launching. In fact, the survey from user research firm Alpha discovered that the majority of Facebook users who already use a paid or free dating app would be interested in the company's online dating service.

Of those Facebook users who use a paid dating app, 43 percent said they'd be extremely interested and 32 percent said they be interested, and among Facebook users who use a free dating app, 31 percent said they’d be extremely interested and 28 percent said they’d be interested. They also have good expectations for the dating service.

When they were shown a mockup of the new feature, a total of 49 percent said they expect it to be either better or somewhat better than other dating apps, while 35 percent said they expect it to be roughly as good.
