"Sparkly Sunscreen" is a Thing Now

EXPERTS WEIGH IN ON THE TREND OF SPARKLY SUNSCREEN

In case you missed it, we're currently in a period of time where all things unicorn, sparkly and pastel are very popular, and apparently sunscreen did not escape this trend. A Florida-based brand called Sunshine & Glitter has released Sea Star Sparkle Rainbow Glitter Sunscreen.

Board-certified dermatologist Dr. Marie Jhin says of the stuff, "The glitter sunscreen is more of a marketing campaign or gimmick. What's going to protect you is the sunscreen. [But the glitter may prompt people to] want to use the sunscreen more, and that's great."

Another expert says glitter won't impact the effectiveness of the sunscreen. You just might want to avoid products like this if you have sensitive skin.
