Texas Truck Owner Defends Profane Anti-Trump Decal After Sheriff's Complaint

A Texas woman is defending the profane anti-Donald Trump decal she and her husband have on their pickup truck after the Fort Bend County sheriff posted about it on Facebook and then held a press conference.

Sheriff Troy Nehls posted a photo of the truck with the sticker that says: "F**k Trump and f**k you for voting for him." He wrote, "I have received numerous calls regarding the offensive display on this truck . . . If you know who owns this truck or it is yours, I would like to discuss it with you."

After the photo got a lot of attention, Nehls held a press conference yesterday and suggested that charges could be brought, saying, "Our prosecutor has informed us she would accept disorderly conduct charges regarding it, but I feel we could come to an agreement regarding a modification to it."

Local media outlets tracked down the truck's owner, Karen Fonseca, who said she and her husband put up the decal almost a year ago. She told station ABC 13, "It makes people happy. They smile. They stop you. They want to shake your hand." Fonseca, who's a mother to 12 children, said her family is expressing their First Amendment rights and they have no plans to remove the sign. However, she did say she's open to speaking with the sheriff.
