Appropriate Restaurant Attire?

Pregs

A Washington state women who's seven-and-a-half months pregnant with twins was turned away from a restaurant for wearing a crop top T-shirt that displayed her very pregnant bare belly over a long skirt.

Charisha Gobin said that when she went to Buzz Inn Steakhouse in the town of Marysville on Sunday, a server told her, "I'm sorry, you can't be here in that shirt." Gobin was told that the crop top violated the "no shoes, no shirt, no service" policy that's linked with health code regulations.

She told local station KIRO-TV that she feels like she was bodyshamed, saying, "Just because my belly was bigger and sticking out. But had it been anyone else, I don't think there would've been any problem whatsoever."

The steakhouse told KIRO that they "sincerely apologize" for what they called a misunderstanding, saying the long-time server had been, quote, "trying to use her best judgment."

Gobin posted a photo of what she was wearing on Facebook after the incident, and said she's gotten a mostly positive response.
