Gay Trump Supporters Denied for Gay Trump Support

Deplorable Pride

An LGBT group called Deplorable Pride is claiming that it wasn't allowed to have a float in Charlotte, North Carolina's gay pride parade because of its support for President Trump.

The group's float would have had gay pride staples like drag queens, but they also wanted to display Trump's "Make America Great Again" campaign slogan and feature a dancer dressed as First Lady Melania Trump.

Deplorable Pride's co-founder, Derek Van Cleve, says they got a message from organizers that said they weren't able to approve the group's application. The message didn't give a reason why, but Van Cleve charged to CNN, "It was politically motivated."

He added, "The LGBT community is known for including everyone. Pretty sad that the organizers for this parade have decided not to include both parties."

The organizers of the parade said in statement to the local Fox station that it, quote, "reserves the right to decline participation at our events to groups or organizations which do not reflect the mission, vision and values of our organization."
