Do We Need Fake-Muddy or Clear Jeans?

If you thought charging a lot of money for ripped jeans was bad, Nordstrom is now selling jeans for $425 that are covered with fake mud. The "Barracuda Straight Leg Jeans" are described as coming with a "caked-on muddy coating."

Social media has widely panned the jeans, with Dirty Jobs host Mike Rowe ranting on Facebook: "The Barracuda Straight Leg Jeans aren't pants. They're not even fashion. They're a costume for wealthy people who see work as ironic -- not iconic."

And then there are these:

Topshop is selling clear, plastic jeans for $100.  Perfect for those who want to look like a trash bag.
