(Lincoln, NE) -- The University of Nebraska Board of Regents approves the elimination of four University of Nebraska-Lincoln programs and the combination of four other programs in a budget-cutting move of 27-point-five million dollars.
Students and faculty were among the many speakers at a long and tense meeting Friday at Varner Hall with most asking the Regents to spare the programs.
Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, Educational Administration, Statistics, and Textiles, Merchandising, and Fashion Design were the programs cut.
The departments of Agricultural Economics and Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communication were combined, with a similar combining of the departments of Entomology and Plant Pathology
