AAA Offers ‘Tow To Go’ During Thanksgiving Weekend

(Omaha, NE) -- Once again this holiday season, AAA is offering its ‘Tow to Go’ program to help keep impaired drivers off the road. The service will be active from 6:00 PM on Wednesday, November 26, through 6:00 AM on Monday, December 1, 2025, across several states, including Nebraska and Iowa.

AAA says a record 81.8 million Americans are expected to travel at least 50 miles from home during this Thanksgiving holiday period. 90% of travelers choose to drive.

‘Tow to Go’ provides a free, confidential ride and tow for impaired drivers and their vehicles to a safe location within a 10-mile radius. Open to both AAA members and non-members, the program is designed as a last-resort safety net when other options, like a designated driver or rideshare, fall through.

Call them at (855) 2-TOW-2-GO or (855) 286-9246. Service cannot be scheduled in advance and should only be used as a backup plan.

Thanksgiving weekend is one of the most dangerous times to be on the road due to increased traffic and celebrations.

“AAA encourages everyone to celebrate responsibly by planning ahead,” Brian Ortner, spokesman for AAA in Nebraska and Iowa said. “Designate a sober driver, use a rideshare service, or stay overnight if needed. Together we can make this Thanksgiving a safe and joyful one for all.”
