Lincoln Police are investigating an apparent homicide after a Lincoln woman was found deceased in her home.

Thursday morning, police received a "check welfare" call from a relative who said they hadn’t seen the woman for a couple days.

Police met family members at the residence, 1635 Deweese Drive, and when officers entered the property, they found a woman in her 40s and a man in his 40s inside.

Investigators say the woman had injuries to her neck and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Her name is not being released at this time pending family notification.

An autopsy will be scheduled.

The man was taken into custody and to the hospital for treatment of non-life - threatening injuries to his face and neck.

At this time, LPD says the nature of the relationship between the two and whether the incident is domestic-related is part of the investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Lincoln Police non-emergency number at 402-441-6000, or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
