A $464-million-dollar grant to help build five new high-voltage power lines in the Midwest has been cancelled by the Department of Energy.
When the grant money was awarded in 2023 it was meant to improve grid reliability, lower bills, and reduce emissions.
The new high-power lines were planned for Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
It's one of the projects included in $7.5-billion-dollars in clean energy projects that were cut last week.
