Omaha Enhanced Traffic Enforcement Through Labor Day Holiday

(Omaha, NE) -- For the final push of the American summer travel season, state and local law enforcement agencies are taking part in traffic safety initiatives for the rest of this month.

Omaha Police will be part of a "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" enforcement operation.

Omaha is partnering with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Nebraska Department of Transportation-Highway Safety Office in the effort from this Saturday through Labor Day, September First.

OPD calls it "a high visibility enforcement campaign."

They say officers will be ticketing impaired drivers along with traffic violations that come with driving impaired.

The enforcement will take place throughout the metro area with officers conducting extra saturation patrols.
