According to the City of Omaha, two overnight lane closures are planned along I-480 over the next two weeks.

Both temporary closures are for Harney Street Bridge decking.

The work will be completed from west to east.

The first closure will begin this coming Sunday, June 29th, through Wednesday, July 2nd.

The second closure will start Monday, July 7th, through Friday, July 11th.

During the lane closures, traffic will be reduced to one lane on I-480 between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. each night.

All lanes of traffic will be open by 6 a.m. each day.

The contractor will complete the southbound closure first before moving to the northbound closure.

U.S. 75 southbound traffic will be detoured overnight while decking occurs over the I-480 southbound lanes at Harney Street.

The on-ramps to U.S. 75 southbound at Hamilton Street and I-480 southbound at 30th Street will also be closed to traffic.

When decking occurs over the I-480 northbound lanes at the Harney exit, U.S. 75 and other entrance ramps will not be impacted.

Drivers are advised to use alternate routes and to plan for extra travel time during these overnight closures.
