(Omaha, NE) -- The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says investigators have presented the evidence from the investigation into a fatal, deputy- involved shooting in Omaha last month to the County Attorney's Office for review.
A news release says within 24 hours of the prosecutor’s office giving an opinion, DCSO is prepared to provide the public with a more comprehensive explanation of events that led up to and transpired during the shooting at 48th and Pratt Streets during a weapons investigation.
Body worn camera video will not be released as the grand jury process proceeds under state law.
Once the comprehensive report has been provided to the public, the Sheriff will schedule a time for family members of the victim, 19 -year -old Janidi Ibrahim, to have a private viewing of the body worn camera video.
