(Lincoln, NE) — The latest monthly Nebraska unemployment report offers more information than just April’s unemployment rate.
“This marks the fourth straight month we’ve seen a record-high labor force, and employment levels are increasing. Omaha and Lincoln are key drivers of that, so there’s definitely good news,” said Scott Hunzeker with the Nebraska Department of Labor.
The Department defines the labor force as including both employed individuals and those actively seeking work. Nebraska’s preliminary unemployment rate for April was 3.0%, seasonally adjusted — up 0.1 percentage points from March and 0.3 points higher than April of last year.
