(Omaha, NE) — An Omaha nonprofit focused on theater says it's losing funding from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). According to a press release from the Great Plains Theatre Commons, more than a thousand arts nonprofits across the country were awarded grants in January. Now, much of that funding has now been withdrawn. GPTC had planned to use its $35,000 grant to support the 20th annual New Play Festival. Despite the loss, the organization says it still intends to move forward with the event.
