More Confirmed Cases Of West Nile Virus In The Region

Fremont, Nebraska - There are more confirmed cases of West Nile virus in the region. The Three Rivers Public Health Department serves Dodge, Washington and Saunders Counties.

The Department reports that two individuals were between the ages of 30 and 40. One was hospitalized but later released.

The department has been testing mosquito pools with no positive results at this time. They have also been testing dead birds for the virus. They are specifically interested in the American Crow, Black-billed Magpie and Blue Jay.

A news release states that the Three Rivers Public Health Department have free mosquito dunks available for residents in their service area and they can be picked up at their Fremont office.
