Bellevue Man Arrested For Attempted Murder

A fight between two men led to gunfire early Wednesday morning at an apartment complex just south of Bellevue University.

Sergeant Andy Jashinske says just after 3 a.m. officers were called to the apartment near Lloyd Street and Ventura Drive for a fight with shots fired.

He says 23 year old Tyler Botos and another man were involved in the fight. Police say Botos pulled out a handgun and fired one shot at the other man. Jashinske says the round missed the man and struck a vehicle in the parking lot.

"Anytime you have a firearm that's being shot in an area such as an apartment complex we are very fortunate that no one was struck," Jashinske says. "It just resulted in some damage to property, which is ideal compared to what it could have been."

As the struggle continued, Jashinske says Botos lost control of the handgun and a woman took it from the scene. Botos was arrested on for attempted second-degree murder, use of a firearm to commit a felony, terroristic threats and criminal mischief.

25 year old Olivia Ashley was arrested tampering with evidence. Both are being held at the Sarpy County Jail.
