Nebraska U.S. Senator Ben Sasse produced this special D-Day video tribute to Andrew Jackson Higgins. It was his boat design, known as the Higgins boat, that delivered troops to the shore of Omaha Beach on D-Day 73 years ago today. As you hear the story, you will learn that Higgins was born in Columbus, NE and grew up in Omaha before moving to the Gulf Coast where he made his mark in boat-building.
