Nestlé USA recalled multiple varieties of its Lean Cuisine® and STOUFFER’S® frozen meals, distributed to retailers across the U.S. on Monday (March 17) due to the possible presence of "wood-like material."

According to the United States Food & Drug Administration, the product, sold in retail stores across Nebraska, could contain materials that increase consumer risk of choking.

Lean Cuisine® and STOUFFER’S® frozen meals mentioned in the recall include "Lean Cuisine® Butternut Squash Ravioli, Lean Cuisine® Spinach Artichoke Ravioli, Lean Cuisine® Lemon Garlic Shrimp Stir Fry, and STOUFFER’S® Party Size Chicken Lasagna that were produced between August 2024-March 2025."

The company is currently working with the FDA to investigate the source of the "wood-like material" in the recalled products, and assured that consumer safety is their top priority.

One potential choking incident was reported as a result of consuming a recalled product listed above.

Customers who recently purchased a recalled product are urged to avoid consumption and return it to the place they purchased it for a full refund. Consumers with questions can call Nestlé USA at (800) 681-1676.
