An inmate has died at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution.
The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services reports 78-year-old Dennis Schneider died Friday at the prison.
Schneider’s sentence began on August 30th, 2023. He was serving a 25-to-30-year sentence out of Lancaster County for attempted first degree sexual assault of a child.
Corrections say while the cause of death has not yet been determined, Schneider was being treated for a medical condition.
As is the case whenever an inmate dies in the custody of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services, a grand jury will conduct an investigation under Nebraska law.
