Tom Osborne on Friday was inducted as the 28th member of the Nebraska Hall of Fame in a ceremony in the State Capitol Rotunda.
The Husker football coaching legend becomes the first living honoree to enter the State Hall of Fame as changes were made to State Historical Society eligibility rules eliminating a previous requirement that nominees be at least 35 years removed from the date of their death.
Osborne was honored for his contributions to intercollegiate athletics, educational leadership, congressional service, and youth mentoring spanning more than 60 years.
