(Des Moines, IA) -- IPERS has a new C-E-O. Governor Kim Reynolds appointed Martin Noven, the former leader of Maryland's Retirement and Pension System. Noven replaces Greg Samorajski, who resigned in May following a misconduct investigation.
In a press release from the Governor's Office Noven said, “I am deeply grateful for Governor Reynolds’ trust and confidence in appointing me to lead Iowa’s largest public retirement system. It is a privilege to serve the many Iowans who depend on IPERS, and I am committed to advancing the organization’s mission and ensuring the long‑term strength and stability of the system as IPERS CEO.”
IPERS is Iowa's largest public retirement system with more than 420,000 members.
The appointment is effective August 24th.
