(Lincoln, NE) - Nebraska Corrections says they are investigating after four staff members were assaulted at the State Penitentiary by two incarcerated individuals.
Corrections says while attempting to escort an inmate to a holding area on Wednesday, the individual being escorted and another inmate punched the staff members multiple times.
One of the staffers had a serious injury and received stitches for a cut to the face.
Investigative findings will be provided to the Lancaster County Attorney's Office for determination of criminal prosecution.
The corrections disciplinary process will be utilized with sanctions, such as loss of good time, applied according to the rules and regulations.
