The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says a former University of Nebraska-Lincoln wrestler was taken into custody Tuesday morning by Douglas County Sheriff's Deputies.

24-year- old A.J. Ferrari was wanted for warrants out of Lancaster County.

He was arrested after leaving a residence near Bennington that was being watched by the Sheriff Special Operations Group.

Ferrari faces three felony charges: Assault by Strangulation/Suffocation on a Pregnant Woman, 3rd degree Domestic Violence Assault, and 1st degree False Imprisonment.

He's in Douglas County Corrections.

Investigators established surveillance around the residence in which Ferrari was alleged to be.

The Sheriff says Deputies observed a woman leave the residence and get into the driver’s seat of a truck that was in the driveway.

A short time later a male was seen crawling out of the garage and entering the rear passenger seat of the vehicle. That male was identified as Ferrari.

Special Operations Group Investigators followed the truck in unmarked vehicles and notified DCSO Uniformed Services Bureau Patrol Deputies of the vehicle’s location.

Deputies performed a felony traffic stop in the area of 204th and Grand Avenue, where Ferrari was taken into custody.
