Nebraska I-80 Traffic Stop Nets Alleged Cocaine

(North Platte, NE) -- Nebraska State Patrol Troopers arrest two people after finding suspected cocaine during a traffic stop on Interstate 80.

Around 3:30 Saturday afternoon, a trooper saw a Kia Telluride failing to maintain its lane while eastbound on I-80 near Brady, at mile marker 197.

During the traffic stop, an NSP K9 detected the odor of a controlled substance coming from the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle revealed several packages of suspected cocaine located inside a suitcase. The total weight was ten pounds.

The NSP says the driver, 48-year-old Chevonne Martin of Illinois, and a passenger, 42-year-old Julius Sutton of Indiana, were arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to deliver.
