Nebraska Medicine/ UNMC reports assessments on passengers exposed to hantavirus on a cruise ship continue.
Fifteen passengers are currently in the National Quarantine Unit on the Omaha campus, and one patient is in the Nebraska Biocontainment Unit.
The Med Center says assessments include regular symptom monitoring and in-depth interviews with each passenger led by federal public health officials with participation from the quarantine unit team.
The goal of those interviews is to determine each passenger’s actions on the ship to determine their contact with any of the other passengers who were confirmed to have hantavirus.
