A prison employee is injured.
In a news release, the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services says the staff member at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution suffered a broken wrist and cuts to an arm Thursday during an assault by an inmate.
Corrections says during an exchange of state property in restrictive housing, the inmate reached through the door hatch, grabbed the staff member’s arm, and attempted to pull it into the cell.
An investigation is underway, and findings will go to the Johnson County Attorney's Office for a charging decision.
