The City of Omaha gives more information on the sinkhole that appeared Tuesday afternoon on Pacific at 67th Street.
Omaha City Engineer Austin Rowser says, based on the size and condition of the void, it's evident a pressurized water source has been scouring soil from beneath the pavement and into a storm sewer for some time.
Rowser says the City and Metropolitan Utilities District are continuing to investigate and coordinate repairs.
Pacific Street in both directions is closed between 66th and 69th Streets.
67th Street is open to north-south traffic.
