Arrest In Omaha Shooting

The investigation continues after a suspect is taken into custody in connection with a shooting early Wednesday.

Omaha Police say they arrested 22-year-old Daniel Navarro for his role in the shooting near 13th and J Streets.

Officers went to the area around 1:30 a.m.

As they arrived in the area, officers saw a man matching the suspect description.

Officers took the man, later identified as Navarro, into custody.

Additional officers arrived and found the victim, an 18-year-old male, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Omaha Fire paramedics took the victim to a hospital in critical condition.

Police say his injuries are not considered life threatening.

Officers booked Navarro at Douglas County Corrections for 1st-degree assault, use of a weapon to commit a felony, possession of a gun by a prohibited person, and assault causing bodily injury.
