New Information In Omaha Vehicle 'Sideshow' Incident

An update to the investigation into street racing and what's called a vehicle "sideshow" Saturday night near 134th & F Streets in Omaha.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says the driver of a vehicle that hit a person has been arrested.

19-year- old Brian Kounnavong was booked on suspicion of willful reckless driving, a misdemeanor, and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident / failure to render aid, a felony.

Investigators say the18-year-old woman who was hit has received medical treatment for her injuries.

Earlier, another person was taken into custody in this incident, while two others received citations:

22-year-old Liam Barlow was booked into Douglas County Corrections on charges of:

• Possession of a firearm while committing a felony X2 (Felony 2)

• Possession of a controlled substance (Felony 4)

• Exhibition of speed (Misdemeanor 2)

• Willful reckless driving (Misdemeanor 3)

• Unlawful use of red or green front lights (Infraction)

20-year-old Joshua Barragan was cited for:

• Unlawful assembly at a drag race / sideshow (Misdemeanor)

A 17-year-old juvenile male was cited for:

• Exhibition of speed (Misdemeanor 2)

• Willful reckless driving (Misdemeanor 3)

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office Community Action Team and Omaha Police were coordinating to investigate a series of late-night car meetups across Douglas County.
