(Omaha, NE) -- A Douglas County District Court judge sentences a man convicted of a murder that happened in an Omaha park.
Brandon Mikesh will spend decades behind bars in connection with the 2024 shooting death of 59-year- old Bernard Leonard in Levi Carter Park.
The Douglas County Attorney’s Office says Mikesh will not be eligible for parole for 49 years.
In December, Mikesh was found guilty of second -degree murder and numerous other felony charges.
