The Criss Library on the UNO Dodge Street campus near 67th Street reopened at 3 p.m. Monday after it was closed because of a threat.
The University says it was a threat of a possible explosive device.
The administration says the library was evacuated out of an abundance of caution while campus police and and Omaha Police searched the building, which was deemed safe.
The UNO news release says schools and businesses across the country received similar threats Monday, and that included the McGoogan Health Sciences Library at UNMC, which also reopened at three after being closed for a search.
This was the first day of the new semester on the University of Nebraska campuses.
