Lincoln Man Sentenced In Police Officer's Traffic Death

(Lincoln, NE) -- A Lincoln man is sentenced in connection with a traffic crash that took the life of an eastern Nebraska police officer.

A Lancaster County District Judge Thursday sentences 51-year- old Tony Pierce to 30 months in prison and a two -year license revocation in the death of 54-year -old Ceresco, Nebraska Police Officer Ross Bartlett in 2024.

Investigators say Ross Bartlett's patrol vehicle was hit during a traffic stop on Highway 77 near Ceresco in Lancaster County, resulting in his death.

Pierce was accused of distracted driving.
