(Omaha, NE) -- A woman accused of killing a man late Christmas evening makes an initial Douglas County Court appearance Tuesday and is held on ten percent of one million dollars bond.

Omaha Police investigators say 41-year-old Maryuris Velasquez-Mendoza stabbed 36-yr-old Angel Gonzalez-Sanchez in an apartment north of 107th and Fort Streets.

He was taken to a hospital with CPR in progress and later died from his injuries.

Velasquez-Mendoza is charged with second degree murder, use of a weapon to commit a felony, and tampering with evidence.

She argues in a police report it was self-defense.
