The Nebraska State Patrol has arrested a former Bellevue Police Officer as part of a child enticement investigation.

In July, the Nebraska Attorney General’s Office requested the Patrol investigate a report from Bellevue Police regarding a Bellevue officer, identified as 38-year-old Ryan Agustin.

The Patrol says they found Agustin to be in possession of manufactured child sexual abuse material and he was taken into custody on Friday.

In a statement, Bellevue Police said:

The Bellevue Police Department was notified of potential criminal conduct involving former Bellevue Police Officer Ryan Agustin. Our agency then requested that the Nebraska State Patrol investigate possible criminal conduct. Agustin was immediately placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of both a criminal investigation conducted by the Nebraska State Patrol and an internal investigation. After thoroughly reviewing the current findings from the ongoing criminal investigation, Agustin's employment with the City of Bellevue has been terminated. He has been taken into custody by the Nebraska State Patrol on criminal charges. Any further media inquiries should be directed to the Nebraska State Patrol. The Bellevue Police Department remains committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity and accountability and in service to our community.
