An investigation is underway into an officer-involved shooting in northeast Lincoln.
No officers were injured in the Wednesday morning shooting, and investigators say there is no danger to the public.
The Nebraska State Patrol says a felony narcotics and firearm possession suspect wanted by the Metro Area Fugitive Task Force was taken to a hospital.
Law enforcement was looking for the man in the area of 56th Street and Cornhusker Highway.
State Patrol Colonel Bryan Waugh says members of the task force say the suspect got in a vehicle that was eventually stopped and the driver got out.
Waugh says verbal commands for the suspect to also leave the vehicle were not followed, and two law officers, a State Trooper and a Deputy U.S. Marshal, fired their weapons after seeing the suspect holding a gun.
Waugh says a weapon was found in the vehicle.
Superior Street from North 48th Street to Cornhusker Highway was closed as part of the investigation.
The driver of the suspect vehicle was a rideshare operator not criminally involved.
