State Troopers Find Suspected Meth In Sarpy County Traffic Stop

The Nebraska State Patrol says Troopers arrested a Georgia woman after locating 130 pounds of suspected methamphetamine during a traffic stop on Interstate 80 in eastern Nebraska.

The NSP says the driver, 47-year-old Iesha Smith of Smyrna, Georgia, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver.

She is in the Sarpy County Jail.

Investigators say Saturday evening, a trooper stopped an eastbound Nissan Altima for speeding on I-80 near mile marker 440.

During the stop, the trooper became suspicious of criminal activity, and a K9 with the Papillion Police Department detected the odor of a controlled substance coming from the vehicle.

The Patrol says a search of the vehicle revealed several trash bags in the trunk, containing suspected methamphetamine.

The total weight was 130 pounds.
