A new petition drive is beginning, again, to make Nebraska a winner-take-all state.
Currently, Nebraska's electoral college votes can be split.
Nebraska allocates its electoral votes based on both statewide and congressional district results, awarding two votes to the statewide winner and one to each of its three congressional districts.
A winner-take all system would give all electoral votes to the majority winner.
A petition drive by Advocates For All Nebraskans aims to amend the state's constitution and implement a winner-take-all system.
A similar proposal failed during the legislative session earlier this year.
More information about the petition is available here.
