(Omaha, NE) -- Omaha Fire late Monday morning responded to a hazardous materials call in south Omaha.
Firefighters were called around 11 a.m. to a chemical company near 36th and "D" Streets, but the situation stabilized.
Firefighters saw a small chemical plume coming from one door of the building.
Those inside advised there was a chemical leak, and firefighters evacuated a connected business.
Investigators say out of an abundance of caution, three people from the adjoining business were decontaminated and moved to rescue squads.
All three were evaluated and declined transport to hospitals.
Firefighters learned from workers the leaking chemicals did not pose a risk to the immediate public, and the small plume earlier noticed had dissipated, so it was determined the company’s private mitigation contractor would handle the incident.
