Maung Tin
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says Monday evening, deputies responded to a call of an armed disturbance in Somerset Park, on Wenninghoff Rd in the Irvington area of unincorporated Douglas County.
Deputies say the victim reported while walking his dogs on the park trail, two Asian males approached him.
One of the males pulled a black handgun from his waistband and pointed it at the victim.
Investigators say both suspects then fled, one on foot and the other on a mini- bike.
Deputies found the bike going eastbound on Lake Cunningham Road near 83rd Street, but the driver refused to stop.
A short, slow-speed pursuit began with information the driver may be in possession of a firearm.
It ended when the bike's chain broke, and the driver fled on foot near 81st and Willit Streets.
Deputies, with help from Omaha Police and their Able 1 helicopter, set up a perimeter, and an arrest was made.
The second suspect was found walking on Lake Cunningham Road.
Investigators say the suspect on the mini- bike was identified as a juvenile and a known "K-Fam" gang member.
He was taken to the County Youth Center.
Deputies requested detention for flight to avoid arrest, obstructing a police officer, and minor in possession of alcohol.
The second suspect was identified as 19-year- old Maung Tin, who deputies say was positively identified as the one with the firearm.
The gun was not found in Tin's possession at the time of his arrest.
Investigators say Tin is also a known K-Fam gang member with prior firearm-related charges.
The Sheriff says during his booking search at Douglas County Corrections, a 9mm bullet was found concealed.
Tin was booked for terroristic threats, use of a firearm to commit a felony, and felon in possession of a firearm.
Deputies attempted to find the firearm, but were unsuccessful.
Investigators say it is believed Tin may have hidden the firearm along his path before he was arrested.
The Sheriff's Office says Somerset Park is known to law enforcement to be an active location for K-Fam gang -related activity.
