After the Omaha traffic stop of world boxing champ and Omaha native Terence "Bud" Crawford over the weekend, Crawford told Police Chief Todd Schmaderer he wanted to file a citizen complaint.
"I told him I would authorize the internal affairs investigation, save him the trouble from having to come down and do that," the Chief said.
Schmaderer also said he does that quite a bit, "so it's nothing special."
The Chief said, "just by watching the body-worn camera, this incident does not define Terence Crawford, and this incident does not define the Omaha Police Department."
Schmaderer says, "I think in a lot of ways, this is getting really taken in a lot of blown-out-of-proportion ways."
Chief Schmaderer said he expects to know more from the investigation by the end of the week.
Crawford was issued a citation for Reckless Driving.
Schmaderer was interviewed by Gary Sadlemyer and Jim Rose on KFAB's Morning News.
