The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services reports an inmate died Friday at the Reception and Treatment Center in Lincoln.
Corrections says 74-year- old Steven Murray’s sentence began in May of 2002.
He was serving a life sentence for first degree murder out of Lancaster County.
While the cause of death has not been determined, the department says Murray was being treated for a medical condition.
As is the case whenever a person dies in law enforcement custody in Nebraska, a grand jury will investigate.
