Rainbow trout are being released in lakes and ponds across Nebraska.

Game and Parks started releasing the catchable fish earlier this week, and will continue through the end of October.

The department says it hopes the trout, which are at least ten-inches long, will help enhance fishing opportunities in the fall and winter.
