The Nebraska and U.S. Ag Departments confirm a case of highly pathogenic avian influenza in a Nebraska dairy herd.
It's the first known case in dairy cattle in the state.
The herd is in central Nebraska and has been quarantined.
It's been confirmed the strain of the virus is very similar to a strain from California.
Experts say with supportive care, dairy cattle recover.
