Omaha Police Detail Wild Stolen Vehicle Ride

Omaha Police identify a person arrested in connection with a stolen vehicle that was tracked across the city, hit multiple vehicles, and eventually crashed near 36th and Leavenworth Streets.

The suspect, 30-year-old Steven Taylor-Workman, was booked for three counts of theft by receiving, four counts of leaving the scene of a property damage crash, willful reckless driving, and no operator license.

Officers were called to a job site near 90th and Pacific Streets Thursday after a company vehicle was reported stolen.

The truck, a black 2023 Ford F-350 with a flatbed lawn trailer, was equipped with GPS tracking, which allowed officers and the police helicopter to follow its movements in real time.

Investigators say Taylor-Workman ran from the scene, but was quickly taken into custody.

He was taken to a hospital for evaluation and treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.
