(Omaha, NE) -- A new report says Nebraska's economy is being hurt by people and jobs leaving the state.

"We're losing people and we're not growing." Says Mike Cassling Aksarben Foundation Board Chair.

"So it's the combination of both. And on top of that, over the past couple years as inflation's gone up ten-percent, our wages have only gone up about five-percent." Said Cassling.

He says they plan to look at why Nebraska is losing ground and what other states have done to avoid the losses and grow their economies.

Cassling says he believes Nebaska's income tax and property taxes are major contributors.

See Aksarben Foundation report here.

Cassling was interviewed by Gary Sadlemyer and Jim Rose on KFAB.
