(Nebraska) -- A 16-year-old hunter is injured after sustaining birdshot wounds in Dawes County while dove hunting.

Nebraska Game and Parks says the teen boy was accidentally shot at close range by another person in his hunting party Friday evening.

He was wounded in the face, torso, arm, and hand.

The teen was taken to Chadron Community Hospital for treatment and later released.

It's the second hunting incident reported so far in 2025.
