A police pursuit in Omaha, with a suspect vehicle being driven around 100 miles per hour, ends with the pickup crashing through a fence, hitting a parked car, and its driver arrested.
A passenger ran after the crash.
The State Patrol says it started around one this morning when a trooper tried to stop the pickup for excessive speeding on I-80 near 42nd Street and ended with the crash near Ames and Commercial Avenues.
The Patrol says 28-year- old Jose Jaimes of Omaha was checked out at a hospital and then jailed on numerous charges: Flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving, DUI, refusing a chemical test, obstructing a peace officer, false reporting, driving under suspension, and numerous traffic offenses.
